Tehran, YJC. Iranian MP said the Supreme Leader’s comments indicates the country’s capacity in the sense that 'we are not powerless to give a response to west’ sanctions.'
Alaeddin Boroujerdi Chairman of Parliament's National
Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament (Majlis), providing
comments on recent guidelines by Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei on imposing
sanctions on west, said the Leader’s comments indicates the capacity and
capability that exists in Iran in the sense that the country was not powerless in giving a response to
west’s sanctions.
In answer to the question if the Islamic Republic of Iran
might respond to international pressure by cutting back gas exports, Boroujerdi
said Iran has no gas export deal to Europe, however, a big collection of the
world's oil and gas is in Iran so that the country can [as the Leader said]
hold back on the gas that Europe and the world is so dependent on.
Pointing to the nuclear talks, Boroujerdi expressed hope the
negotiations might reach an acceptable and favorable result, adding that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, also favors achieving a final deal in nuclear negotiations.
