Tehran, YJC. Friday preacher ayatollah Seddiqi has said that the government must rid the country of its dependence on oil revenues.
Seddiqi who was speaking to prayers in Tehran on Friday,
stated that the government has to slash Iran's dependence on oil revenues in
order for the country to become independent.
He also urged the government to be more attentive to the
resistance economy, as stressed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ai Khamenei
as the only way to help the country survive under enemies’ pressure.
] "An oil-dependent economy will not be under our control
and has no relation with our independence,” he asserted.
"They can take up and down oil prices every day and, as they
claim, bring us to our knees by doing so.”
The ayatollah maintained that in order to achieve
independence from oil revenues, attention has to be paid to production and tax
revenues.
