Tehran, YJC. Turkmenistan’s FM has pointed to the importance of closer cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat in a whole range of areas.
Minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan Rasit Meredow speaking
at a meeting with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary
and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi held in the Turkmen capital on
Monday, emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation between the two
neighboring countries in regional and international circles.
"Iran is a great country with various capabilities and Ashgabat
can see higher prospects for bilateral relations between the two countries in
the sectors of energy, transportation, trade, fight against illegal drugs and
consular relations,” Meredow said.
He also asserted that the high-ranking officials from Tehran
and Ashgabat are determined to promote "brotherly ties” in all spheres.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 11th session of
the joint consular, border and customs commission of Iran and Turkmenistan.
