Tehran, YJC. The Iranian security organizations have managed to dispand a terrorist cell in the southeastern province Sistan-Balouchestan.
During their
operations, the forces also confiscated 350 kilograms of explosives, intelligence
minister Seyed Mahmoud Alavi announced on Saturday.
The country’s intelligence forces launched sophisticated
operations on February 5 and 11, where they destroyed several strongholds of
the terrorist group and arrested a number of members of the group, Alavi told a
press conference.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces, law
enforcement forces as well as local residents aided the intelligence forces
during the operations, he said.
Alavi further explained that the arrested terrorists have
had a hand in a number of terrorist actions, including the killing of a local
teacher and some security forces.
Earlier this month, the intelligence minister had said that
two terrorist groups involved in murdering teachers in the southeastern Saravan
County were arrested.
On January 2, unidentified gunmen shot dead two people in
the village of Nasirabad in Sistan-Baluchestan.
One of the victims was a local teacher named Issa Shahraki.
The terrorist attack also took the life of an IRGC staff member.
