TEHRAN – The Iranian security forces have dismantled a terrorist group in the southeastern region of the country by “confiscating a great amount of cold and warm weapons, live bullets, handmade bombs, and suicide vests,” Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi announced on Saturday.
"Through a complicated operation and with the help of the people of Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province, we succeeded to identify and dismantle part of a terrorist group that intended to take sabotage acts in the country,” he stated.

Over 350 kilograms of explosive materials were also confiscated from the group, Alavi added.

He went on to say that the operation was a joint action by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, police, and intelligence agents.

Alavi appreciated the local people’s role in the operation, noting that the criminals affiliated to the group were supported by foreigners.

He also reaffirmed that Iran expects its neighbors to help counter against terrorists.
