Tehran, YJC. The Syrian FM said that Tehran and Damascus have developed strategic relations since the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
According to 'Rai al-youm' news website, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said that Syria fostered amity with Iran during the Iraqi-imposed war on Iran in 1980-1988, by challenging the Arab governments for mobilizing their resources to support Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
He stated that the Syrian government will not allow ground military
intervention in the country for fight against Daesh terrorists, because the
Syrian Army and popular forces are able to demolish the terrorist groups.
Al-Moallem continued that the Zionist regime is behind the curtain for
terrorism against the Syrian legitimate government and is currently involved in
terrorism in Syria by repetition of the Israeli sabotage against the Lebanese
government and Israeli-sponsored terrorism in southern Lebanon.
Concerning fight against Takfiri and terrorist group of Daesh, al-Maallem said
that the group will not be ruined by air attacks, but it should be destroyed by
the Army by aerial support.
About relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia, al-Moallem said that our
relations has been disconnected as Saudi desired and everybody knows that the
Saudi Arabia is offering all kind of assistance to terrorist group so called
'Jaish al-Islam' and everybody knows that the group has relations with the
Saudi security agency.
He added that it would be beneficial to the people and government of Saudi
Arabia to revise their such policies.
Concerning relations between Syria and Lebanon, the Syrian foreign minister
said that the ties are consolidated and brotherly, but some others trying to
sabotage by hatching conspiracy.
He described Lebanese Hezbollah forces in participation in fight against
terrorists in Syria as 'Very correct move,' and added that the Hezbollah leader
Hassan Nasrullah helped the Syrian government to remove the threat posed by
Daesh to Syria.
