Tehran, YJC. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s military advisor says that Iran has already responded “enemies’” cyber attacks in an appropriate manner.
"The country’s armed forces have made remarkable progress in
the sphere of cyber warfare and have been able to give due response to the
enemies at different junctures,” Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said.
The official made the remarks speaking in a Saturday visit
to an IT research center affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps
(IRGC).
Safavi also warned against the enemy’s cyber plots, saying
Iran should constantly monitor all threats and formulate the necessary plans
for any possible threat.
Iranian computer scientists have in recent years made great
headway in producing home-made defense infrastructure and have also made
progress in securing the country against cyber-attacks.
Iran is now training Master of Science students in the field
of cyber defense and the doctoral classes in that field will be also
established in future.
According to General Gholam Reza Jalali, Head of Iran’s
Civil Defense Organization, a detailed plan is being prepared for the academic
training in the cyber defense subjects due to inadequacy of the fields and
university students in the "banking and industrial” sectors.
