Tehran, YJC. Iranian minister of culture and Portuguese FM signed an MoU to boost cultural interactions at a Tuesday meeting.
Iran’s Minister of Culture Ali Jannati held a meeting with the
Foreign Minister of Portugal Rui Machete in Tehran on Tuesday to sign an MoU on
cultural cooperation.
The Iranian official referred to the 500 years of relations
between the two countries as something unique and outstanding, and emphasized
on its further development through signing the memorandum of understanding.
"Tehran and Lisbon enjoy good experiences in the fields of
culture, archeology and arts, and we are ready to take the necessary measures
for the exchange of these experiences between the two countries,” said the Iranian
minister of culture.
He also pointed to Iran’s Cultural Week held in Portugal
during which event various Iranian cultural and artistic works such as films
and music were showcased in the Portuguese capital, expressing hope for having
the European country’s artists in Tehran in the near future.
Rui Machete, in turn, emphasized his country’s serious
efforts for the implementation of the provisions in the memo, hoping Iran and
Portugal’s mutual relations would further expand with the signing of various
cultural memorandums of understanding.
