Tehran, YJC. Nuclear negotiations between Iranian and American delegations at the foreign ministers level have began early Wednesday in Geneva.
The Wednesday bilateral negotiations of Geneva are held at
the ministerial level, headed by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The talks are to proceed tomorrow at the deputy foreign
minister level.
Iranian FM spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham has confirmed that
Zarif is going to have meetings with other members of 5+1 in Europe.
"Mr. Zarif intends to make the best use of his time in
Geneva and Europe by holding consultations on the latest updates on the nuclear
negotiations with other members of group 5+1 at higher levels.”
She further added that the subsequent meetings’ timetable
will be disclosed at the end of each round of talks.
This makes the 2nd round of talks after the 7-month
extension of a temporary agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the
sextet. Negotiators hope to reach a preliminary deal by March and a comprehensive
agreement by June 30.
