TEHRAN, YJC. Deputy managing director of Iranian oil company announced Iran’s agreement with China to finance one of the country’s largest refinery projects.

(NIORDC) Deputy Managing Director Shahrokh Khosravani has spoken of Iran signing
of an agreement with China to finance one of the largest refinery projects in
Iran.
He also said taht the maintenance plan of Abadan Refinery is
provided by Chinese credit through tapping financial sources.
Providing comments bout the latest status of Abadan oil
refinery maintainance project, he stated that the negotiations for final
agreement are under way to fund the big-time refinery plans via Chinese credit
lines.
Explaining that the credit required for the construction and
operation of the refinery is about 2,600 billion euros, the Iranian official stated
the final agreement was signed by the Chinese investor to fund the refinery
project.
Abbas Kazemi, Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister, had earlier said that
the country’s engineering office was at the time working in China. A group of
engineers were engaged, he further added, in follow-up activities and
coordinating with the contractors of the project.
He noted that a detailed blueprint of Abadan refinery
expansion project was under way and maintained that its construction would
begin by the end of the ongoing studies.
