TEHRAN, YJC. Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Research Center said Iranian tourism services are considering cultural priorities for tourists..
Speaking to an expert level job creation session for women
in tourism on Saturday, Mohammad Beheshti stated that if Iran would add the
nursing and feminine traits on agenda, its tourism programs will turn very
successful.
He suggested that the country could increase women's share
in tourism and pay greater attention to the quality of services offered.
The official said that in some countries such as India and
China, the guests are viewed as masters and the hosts are always ready to offer
services that they can.
Explaining that his ideal type of tourism services is the
'nursing type' he noted that the proposed version is what the Iranians carry
out when they have a guest.
'We use everything we have in order to make our guest feel
at home. What we do in fact is introduce ourselves to our guests and try to make
them realize that we consider them as insiders,' he said.
Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Research Center
said that in this type of hospitality the guests are not considered merely as
customers like what is usually the case in economic transactions, but rather
the guest-host relations are directed by the host.
