Tehran, YJC. Deputy foreign ministers from the United Arab Emirates and Iran on Wednesday discussed a vast range of consular affairs a meeting held annually in UAE capital of Abu Dhabi.
Hassan Qashqavi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates' Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman co-chaired the 9th Joint Consular Cooperation Commission meeting of Iran and the UAE.
At the end of the meeting, two sides also inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The 17-clause document covers a range measures to simplify visa formalities, settle the residence problems of nationals from the two neighbor countries, enhance judicial ties on anti-narcotics and also strengthen cooperation between the coast guards.
The meeting, which was held at the UAE Foreign Ministry, was also attended by representatives from Iran’s Judiciary branch, the International Police (Interpol), the Iranian Border Police, and the Red Crescent Society.
