Tehran, YJC. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces have started a large-scale series of exercises.
Titled "Muhammad Rasullullah”
(Muhammad, the messenger of God), the expansive military drills began on
Thursday with the participation of units from the Army’s Ground and Air forces,
as well as the Navy and Air Defense.
The Army’s exercises will continue
for one week (until December 31) in a vast area of 2.2 million square
kilometers, which stretches from the northern Indian Ocean (10 degrees
latitude) to the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf and Iran’s Sistan and
Baluchestan and Hormozgan provinces in the south.
On the first two days of the war game,
the forces will focus on displaying the capabilities and agility of the Ground
Force units in deployment, preparation and construction of defensive
positions.
Iran’s Armed Forces have held numerous
military drills over the past few years.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has
repeatedly asserted to other nations, especially its neighbors, that its
military power will pose no threat to other countries, assuring them that its
defense doctrine is merely focused on deterrence.
