Tehran, YJC. In separate messages Jahangiri congratulated his Christian counterparts on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and the new Christian year.
In his message on Wednesday, Iran’s First Vice President
Eshaq Jahangiri expressed optimism that the teachings of messengers of God
would help deal with the aflictions and crises that have gripped the world at
the present time.
He also hoped that "increased collective efforts by the
government and nations” would prepare the ground for the establishment of peace
and stability all over the world.
The Iranian government respects the rights of its minority
nationals, including Christians and allows them the observation of their rites
as far as they do not disturb the Islamic image of the country.
