Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Melli Bank CEO and the Head of Central Bank of the UAE have met and discussed banking cooperation.
On Monday, Iran’s Melli Bank CEO Abdol Nasser Hemmati met
with United Arab Emirates’ Central Bank Governor Mubarak Rashid al-Mansouri in the
UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, the Iranian banking manager provided some
reports on the progress of the Iranian economy, despite the continuation of international
sanctions. He also called for further assistance from United Arab Emirates’ Central
Bank to Iran’s banks, especially Iran’s Melli Bank branches which operate in
the UAE.
In addition to the bank's subsidiaries and affiliated
independent banks in other countries, Hemmati pointed out, Iran’s Melli Bank
works with 7 branches and a counter in different cities of the United Arab
Emirates where it offers "remarkable” services to individuals as well as
companies, especially Iranian businessesmen and people in the Arab country.
For his part, United Arab Emirates’ Central Bank Governor
Mubarak Rashid al-Mansouri pointed to the key role of Iran's Melli Bank
activities in his country and called for assistance to help expand the
activities.
