Tehran, YJC. Iranian contestants at World Press Photo have won three prizes this year.
Ebrahim Noruzi, the
Iranian photographer has won two awards at the 56th World Press Photo
contest.
"Somayeh”, Noruzi’s photo from his collection "Victims of Forced
Love” won the Observed Portraits section’s first prize.
Ebrahim Noruzi also
won the second award for the Staged Portraits section with another of his photos
from the same collection.
Distributed by United Press International, the
Associated Press, AFP, the European Press Photo Agency, and
Reuters, Noruzi’s photos have made their way to magazines such as The Washington
Post, Time, and The New York Times.
Iranian photography won another prize in
the contest, this time in the Contemporary Issues Stories section whose second
award was won by Majid Saeedi for his series "Life in War”.
Other winners in
the contest came from Sweden, Turkey, Russia, Switzerland, Portugal, Poland, the
Netherlands, Jordan, Italy, Indonesia, India, Germany, France, Denmark, Czech
Republic, China, Chile, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, Australia, and Argentina.
