Tehran, YJC. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has asserted that the Western sextet has no other choice but to remove its "cruel" sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
President Rouhani’s remarks came on Monday as he said that through
interaction with Tehran, the P5+1 group of world powers must remove anti-Iran
sanctions.
"They [the Western negotiating sides] have no other way because all other
ways are wrong; they have tried these ways previously. If they want to retry
them, they will lose even more,” Rouhani asserted.
The Iranian president moreover reiterated the peaceful nature of Tehran’s
nuclear activities, saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran is holding
"logical and calculated” negotiations with the global powers.
In their last round of talks that lead to a November 24 deadline for
reaching a comprehensive nuclear agreement, Iran and the P5+1 countries -- the
United States, Russia, Germany, France, China and Britain -- held close to a
week of intense talks in Vienna on how to tackle the remaining obstacles that
exist in the way of clinching an agreement.
At the end of the few days of negotiations, the two sides agreed to extend
the Joint Plan of Action to July 1, 2015.
