Sunday,17 July 2022 (YJC)_ On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and Eid Al-Ghadir, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed to pardon over 2,200 Iranian prisoners.
On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and Eid Al-Ghadir, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei agreed to pardon or commute the sentences of over 2,200 Iranian prisoners.
Ayatollah Khamenei issued the approval on Sunday.
Prior to this, on the occasion of the Eid Al-Fitr, the leader agreed with granting clemency to 1,542 convicts of different Iranian courts.
Upon a recommendation from the head of the judiciary, the Supreme Leader has the right to pardon or commute the sentences of convicts.
