Tehran, YJC. Interior Minister of Iran Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kolokoltsev agreed to broaden cooperation between the countries' police forces, the actions including exchange of intelligence and holding joint training courses.
In their two-hour meeting on Tuesday, the interior ministers
of Iran and Russia agreed to exchange delegations and experiences in law
enforcement, intelligence exchange areas and to hold joint training courses.
Mehdi Sanayee Iranian Ambassador to Moscow reporting the
event said that during the meeting the two sides also discussed bilateral and
regional cooperation.
Sanayee stressed that the two ministers also agreed to
cooperate in preventing mercantile trafficking and drug smuggling.
heading a delegation, Rahmani Fazli arrived in Moscow last
Monday to discuss joint war on narcotics as well as international and regional
security cooperation with a number of senior Russian officials.
His visit took place at the official invitation of the
Russian Federal Drug Control Service Chief Viktor Ivanov.
In his two-day stay, Fazli discussed international war on
drugs with counterparts.
He also met a host of other senior Russian officials in his
visit to Moscow, the list including Emergencies Minister Vladimir Andreyevich
Puchko, where they dicussed enhancement of Tehran-Moscow regional and
international security cooperation.
Iran and Russia have over the last several years had vast
cooperation in different fields, especially in political and economic spheres.
