Saturday, 25 June 2022 (YJC)_ Iranian President underlined the importance of expansion of ties among the BRICS members.
Addressing the BRICS Business Forum virtual summit, Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi underlined the importance of expansion of ties among the members.
“Unilateralism, nationalism, sanctions and coercive economic measures necessitates creating new institutions alongside the UN,” he noted.
He went on to say that Iran is ready to share all capabilities and potentials to help BRICS realize its goals and added that “new and diverse challenges in the current interconnected world affect global friendship and peace.”
Elsewhere in his remarks he put emphasis on the need to boost interaction among BRICS countries and noted “there is a will to overcome the existing problems such as the coronavirus pandemic, climate change and regional and international conflicts.”
“BRICS is a pioneering group comprised of large emerging economies that has been able to launch new global trends by promoting its initiatives,” he said.
BRICS is the acronym coined to associate five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China (PRC), and South Africa.
Iran is the only country in West Asia region that has been invited to attend the BRICS+ summit.
