Thursday, 2 June 2022 (YJC)_ Supreme Leader of Iran wrote a message to Pope Francis and urged him to continue defending the rights of the oppressed people.

Supreme Leader Urged Pope to Continue Defending People in Yemen, PalestineIn a message to Pope Francis, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for the continuation of his defense of the rights of the oppressed people across the world, especially in Yemen and Palestine.

He appreciated Pope’s steps in strengthening interaction between Islam and Christianity and speaking for the oppressed people in the world and said “We expect you to continue to work to defend the oppressed people of the world, Iran believes that the Palestinian issue should be decided by native Palestinians in a free election.”

The head of Islamic seminaries in Iran, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, who was on a visit to the Vatican brought that message to the supreme authority of the Catholic Church.

In response, Pope Francis conveyed his warm greetings to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
