Saudi Arabia held a joint exercise with five countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Djibouti and Yemen, on Sunday (yesterday) in the Saudi coastal city of Jeddah, claiming that its goal was to secure the Red Sea.
Saudi media reported that the exercise, dubbed the Red Wave, began with the presence of Brigadier General Yahya Asiri, commander of the exercise.
Asiri said that for the first time, American Apache helicopters are participating in the exercise.
He expressed hope that this exercise would see a great change due to the number of units participating in it, adding that no one can carry out the operation alone, so it is necessary to work and cooperate with other parties in the armed forces.
Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Djibouti and Yemen are participating in the exercise, along with the Saudi Air Force, Border Guard and Land Forces, and the duration of the exercise and the number of troops participating have not been determined.
