A tanker carrying one million barrels of Iranian heavy oil has entered Venezuelan waters in recent days to be delivered to the country's largest refinery, Reuters reported, citing a shipping report and tanker navigation statistics.
Iran and Venezuela recently expanded a swap agreement they signed last year, adding to that the supply of Iranian heavy crude oil to the El Palito refinery and the Paraguana refinery.
Venezuela is in dire need of increased fuel production to avoid another gasoline and diesel crisis.
According to Reuters, the tanker Sozmeks "Sylvia" owned by the National Iranian Tanker Company anchored in the port of "Amovi" on Sunday.
