Tuesday, 24 May 2022 (YJC)_ The Deputy Foreign Ministers of Iran and Turkmenistan discussed ways to expand economic cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, transportation and transit.
Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Vafa Hajiyev, who is in Tehran to attend a meeting of ECO Deputy Foreign Ministers, met with Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari on the sidelines of the meeting and discussed the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the expansion of economic cooperation, especially energy, transportation and transit.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to increase cooperation in the fields of oil, gas and electricity, as well as their swaps and transit, as well as facilitating transportation along the north and south corridors.
The Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister also stressed the need to increase trade and contacts in order to expand relations between the two countries.
