Following the ongoing diplomatic and political tensions between Ankara and Athens, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sharply criticized the Greek Prime Minister.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan said he no longer had a politician as Greek prime minister named Mitsotakis.
According to the RIA Novosti website, he implicitly called Mistotakis a dishonorable person and stressed that he would never meet or interact with him again.
Erdogan explained:
During the meeting with him (Mitsotakis), we decided not to interfere in our relations with third countries. However, during his visit to the United States, he said everything he could against Turkey and stressed that Turkey should not give F-16s.
He continued:
This year we were going to hold a meeting of the Strategic Council, but for me there is no politician named Mitsutakis anymore, I will not meet with him.
According to the report, the Turkish president said that his country only cooperates with politicians with dignity.
Let him think after that. Who he meets, with whom he builds a military base.
According to RIA Novosti, Erdogan also added:
I hope the United States does not make a decision based on Mitsutakis's talk about [selling] the F-16 [to Turkey].
