Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday (Thursday) that Ankara has a lot in common with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, stressing that his country has passed the stage of disputes with Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.
According to the Anatolian News Agency, Erdogan claimed that Turkey's differences with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were "family disputes" during his participation in a sports and youth celebrations in Ankara.
Acknowledging the passage of these disputes with Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, the Turkish President added:
We have presented plans for the rapid expansion of bilateral relations in the fields of trade, industry, defense industry, cultural fields and tourism, and we will take steps to implement them.
Referring to the goals and plans of his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates, Erdogan noted that Turkey's relations with Saudi Arabia are also progressing in a more positive direction.
In the end, he announced that Turkey will cooperate with Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the field of defense industry. A few days ago, Erdogan met with Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun and called for increased Al-Jazeera-Ankara cooperation in the field of defense industry.
At the end of the ceremony, the President of Turkey acknowledged his country's path towards Riyadh and Abu Dhabi and knew that this process would lead to very valuable political-economic contributions.
