Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian president's special envoy to the Middle East and Africa, and Russia's deputy foreign minister, announced that steps were being taken to meet with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
Some media outlets recently reported that the head of Hamas' political bureau would travel to Moscow next month to meet with senior officials.
