Tuesday, 17 May 2022 (YJC)_ Senior Iranian and Armenian officials agreed to increase the transit of cargoes to activate a transportation corridor.
In a meeting held in Tehran earlier in the day, senior Iranian and Armenian officials agreed to increase the transit of cargoes to activate a transportation corridor.
In order to increase the transit of cargoes through as part of efforts to activate a transportation corridor that will pass through the Armenian territory to Europe bypassing Azerbaijan, the officials agreed to increase the transit of cargoes.
Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Qassemi announced the news and noted that “the agreements would lead to increased transit cooperation,” while adding that Armenia had agreed to ease its restrictions.
“We hope to increase the volume of road transit with Armenia based on the agreements reached today,” he said.
