Friday, 13 May 2022 (YJC)_ Following Western arms aid to Ukraine, the European Union announced the approval of another $ 520 million in aid to Kiev to counter Russia.
EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell has announced the approval of another military-financial assistance to Ukraine at the G7 foreign ministers' meeting.
According to AFP, Borrell announced the value of the new EU aid to Ukraine at $ 520 million.
Ahead of the meeting, British Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace called for increased pressure on the Kremlin by sending more weapons to Ukraine and tightening sanctions against Russia.
He told reporters on his way to Germany to attend the meeting:
It is very important at this time to increase the pressure on "Vladimir Putin" by increasing sending to Ukraine.
"The G7 alliance is vital to supporting freedom and democracy during the Ukraine crisis, and we are working hard on this together," he added.
German Foreign Minister Annalna Bayerbuk, who is hosting the three-day summit in the Baltic Sea, stressed that the Ukraine-Russia war and its regional and global consequences are central to the summit.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kulba and Moldovan Foreign Minister are also in attendance.
