Thursday, 12 May 2022 (YJC)_ The head of the Atomic Energy Organization, stating that we have provided 50 types of radiopharmaceuticals to medical centers in the field of diagnosis, relief and treatment, said: 210 medical centers use our products and radiopharmaceuticals.
According to the General Diplomacy and Information Department of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, a seminar on the role of radiopharmaceuticals in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer today (Thursday), May 12, with the presence of Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization, Davarpanah Managers and specialists in the field of health in the country was held in the conference hall of Shahid Rajaei Heart Hospital in Tehran.
Referring to the role of nuclear technology in ensuring public health, the Vice President said in a specialized seminar "The role of radiopharmaceuticals in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer":
The task of the Atomic Energy Organization in the unlimited scope for scientific and research movement in the field of health is more important today than in the past, and public health is one of the most important axes of the organization's activities to achieve the goals of the nuclear industry.
He added:
Regarding the activities of this organization in the field of core medicine, we have taken positive and forward steps, one of which was the establishment of a neonatal screening kit center; In the heavy water dispute, the enemies launched a heavy attack on Iran's peaceful activities and demanded that Iran not be active in this area. Fortunately, we were able to continue moving forward on the path to heavy water and its derivatives, regardless of Western pressure, and today our scientists have a lot to say in the field of heavy water.
He said about the exploitation of heavy water in the country:
Heavy water is a very large and important gateway in the process of molecular and atomic engineering, the derivatives of which can provide great achievements in the field of health and domestic industry. They do not want our country to be among the world powers by creating strategic scientific and technical capacities.
Regarding the activities of nuclear industry scientists in the fields of health, industry, agriculture and the use of radiation, Eslami noted:
We have the full potential of the nuclear fuel cycle and with the scientific, research and industrial capacities that we have created, we are moving in the service of human health and the people. We have provided 50 types of radiopharmaceuticals to medical centers for diagnosis, relief and treatment.
The Vice President added:
Our goal is to achieve important achievements in the strategic field that the enemies oppose, and to increase the scientific balance and authority of Islamic Iran.
