Monday, 9 May 2022 (YJC)_ Following the announcement of new sanctions by Washington against Moscow, the Canadian government announced sanctions against 27 individuals and 5 Russian entities.
The Canadian government imposed new sanctions on Russia shortly after the end of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visit to Ukraine and hours after the G7 summit.
According to Sputnik, the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada said in a statement:
Another $ 38.7 million in arms aid to Ukraine is on the sanctions list, including 40 Russians, including 19 in the military and defense sectors, and five Russian agencies.
According to Sputnik, the British government also announced new sanctions against Russia and Belarus on Sunday evening, but did not provide details.
The US government had already announced new sanctions against Moscow on Sunday. The British and Canadian sanctions were announced hours after the end of the G7 summit.
