Saturday, 7 May 2022 (YJC)_ The head of the Russian Mufti Council supported Palestine and its people during a meeting with a Hamas delegation.
A Hamas delegation led by Musa Abu Marzouq traveled to Russia to meet with Sheikh Rawil Ainuddin, head of the Muslim Religious Affairs Department and chairman of the country's Mufti Council.
According to Arab 21, Ainuddin stressed the support of Russian Muslims for the Palestinians during the meeting, saying that the situation of the Palestinians in Jerusalem has become very difficult and that he is closely following the events in Jerusalem.
He expressed sympathy for the Palestinians living in Jerusalem and said he was ready to provide any assistance if possible.
Referring to Russia's diplomatic efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Ainuddin continued that Russia recognizes the Security Council resolution establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
Abu Marzouq also thanked Sheikh Ain al-Din and all Russian Muslims for their continued support for Palestine and their firm stance on the issue.
