Friday, 6 May 2022 (YJC)_ The first round of Lebanese parliamentary elections began today in Islamic countries, with Lebanese living in Iran registering the highest turnout this morning.
Lebanese media reported this morning (Friday) that the first round of the country's parliamentary elections in Islamic countries has begun.
According to Lebanese sources, the voting process has started at 9 am Lebanese time today in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Egypt and Iraq, and the second phase of this process is expected (in countries West) to begin on May 8 (Sunday next week).
Hadi Hashem, director of Lebanese's immigration affairs, announced at around 10 a.m. local time today that 2,500 Lebanese living in Islamic countries had cast their ballots out of a total of 31,000, with the highest turnout in Tehran (32). 5%) and the lowest turnout was recorded in Baghdad and Egypt.
According to the "Al-Nashra" news website, the level of participation so far in the mentioned countries has been as follows:
Iran: 209 out of a total of 642 eligible
Qatar: 574 people out of a total of 7345 eligible
Kuwait: 408 out of a total of 5760 eligible
Jordan: 37 out of 438 eligible
Bahrain: 47 out of 638 eligible
Damascus: 72 out of 1018 eligible
Saudi Arabia: Participation in Riyadh: 679 out of 8653 eligible
Jeddah: 347 out of 4452 eligible
Oman: 100 out of 903 eligible
Iraq: Participation in the Lebanese Embassy: 5 out of 101 eligible people
Participation in Rotana Hotel: 3 out of 226 eligible people
Egypt: Lebanese Embassy in Cairo: 14 out of 569 eligible
Alexandria: 5 out of 140 eligible people
The Lebanese director of immigration affairs also reported two cases of violations and announced that the perpetrators had been arrested. The third and main round of Lebanese parliamentary elections is scheduled to begin on May 15th.
