The UN special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced on April 4 that a two-month ceasefire had been reached between the two sides in Yemen and called for an end to all military operations. The Sanaa airport was scheduled to reopen under the fire, but Saudi coalition forces are blocking flights.
A military source told the Saba news agency today (Thursday) that the Saudi-US coalition had violated the ceasefire 5,365 times in the month since the temporary ceasefire was established.
He added that the firefighting violations included offensive operations, infiltration attempts, airstrikes, fighter jets, Apaches, spy flights, missile and artillery attacks, as well as shooting with various weapons.
The source continued, the Saudi coalition continues to prevent piracy and siege, preventing ships carrying oil derivatives and flying to Sanaa airport.
Widespread violations of temporary firearms have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of civilians and damage to their farms and property.
