Thursday, 28 April 2022 (YJC)_ The South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister and the US Special Representative for Iran discussed the Borjam talks.
In a message posted on his Twitter page, South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Jang Chuiso announced a telephone conversation with Rob Malley, the US Special Representative for Iran, regarding JCPOA.
He wrote in this message:
I spoke with the US Special Representative for Iran and reiterated South Korea's diplomatic efforts to reciprocate the JCPOA's commitments.
Emphasizing cooperation with the United States to advance the Vienna talks on lifting sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister said:
We will continue to consult closely.
Incumbent President Joe Biden has claimed that he intends to pave the way for a US return to the JCPOA through several rounds of talks in Vienna, but has so far refused to take any action.
Negotiations to lift sanctions in Vienna have stalled for several months. Since the beginning of the talks, the US government has repeatedly tried to accuse various parties, especially Iran, of slowing down the talks, instead of proposing practical initiatives to advance the talks.
