In his remarks during a meeting of the UN Security Council, Iran’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht-Ravanchi called on the Security Council to hold the Israeli regime accountable for its crime.
He criticized the council for its silence and inaction on the Zionist’ regime's crimes against the Palestinian people and noted that “The rights of the Palestinians will not be protected, as long as the Security Council continues to be passive and silent about such crimes.”
“The Security Council's current stance has only encouraged the Israeli regime and its crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people, these crimes are completely documented and undeniable, under international law, they are war crimes. With the continuation of the regime's racist policies, the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories has worsened.”
He went on to add that “International community is the witness of such crimes and knows very well that it will not face any consequences.”
