Sunday, 24 April 2022 (YJC)_ The Russian embassy in Tehran called the published news about the shipment of Iranian weapons to Russia fake and stated that this news was not true.
The embassy of the Russian Federation in Tehran denied the published news about sending weapons from Iran to Russia.
A statement issued by the embassy today (Sunday) said:
The information published in some media about the sending of Iranian weapons to Russia is false and does not correspond to reality.
It is worth mentioning that the Guardian newspaper recently claimed in a report that it had sent anti-tank missiles from Iraq and the Bavar-373 defense system from Iran to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.
Following the publication of this report by the Guardian, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London also denied this claim, calling the report unprofessional and baseless. The embassy tweeted:
The Guardian's report on Tuesday, entitled "Russia's use of weapons smuggled by Iran from Iraq against Ukraine" and the storytelling is unrealistic and baseless, and the attempt to link recent developments in Ukraine with developments in the Middle East and mention Iran is unprofessional. And it is unacceptable and also a kind of disrespect to the readers of that newspaper.
