Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government President Masrur Barzani yesterday (Friday).
According to the Anatolian News Agency, the meeting was held at the Dolma Bagce Palace in Istanbul.
During their meeting, Erdogan and Barzani discussed ways to expand bilateral relations and regional developments, the report said.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidential Communications Office, the talks focused on Ankara and Erbil's steps and policies on bilateral relations and regional developments.
Coordination between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region continues as the Iraqi government and political currents strongly oppose Ankara's military presence in the north of the country, calling its ongoing airstrikes a violation of its national sovereignty.
