The UN Security Council on Wednesday (yesterday) welcomed the formation of the presidency and called it an important step towards stability.
On April 7, Riyadh witnessed a sudden incident. When Yemeni President Abd al-Mansour Hadi ousted his deputy, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, before the presidential statement was issued, and then transferred power to a "presidential council" headed by Rashad al-Alimi.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Abdul Malik Al-Ajri, a member of the Yemeni National Salvation Government's negotiating team, today (Thursday) reacted to a statement made by the UN Security Council on Wednesday (yesterday) and welcomed the formation of the presidency.
Al-Ajri wrote on his Twitter page that it is not surprising that the Security Council welcomes Saudi Arabia's move to transfer power from Abd Rabbo Mansour Adi to Rashad al-Alimi; It is ready to welcome any ruler appointed by Riyadh, even if he is crazy or incompetent.
Stating that the resigned Yemeni government has nothing to do with the will of the Yemenis, he continued, "This position of the Security Council is an attempt to confiscate the sovereign rights of the Yemeni people, to falsify their will and to humiliate them."
Earlier, Hisham Sharaf, the foreign minister of the Yemeni National Salvation Government, criticized Saudi Arabia for fleeing ahead on the Yemeni issue, stressing that any political solution must be found in Yemen.
He stressed the formation of an institution called the "Presidential Council" that took place at the Riyadh meeting:
The formation of what is called the Presidential Council is a misconception and has failed; Because there are several decision makers in a single position.
