Thursday, 14 April 2022 (YJC)_ A White House spokesman said the president's remarks about Ukraine were only his personal views, adding that they did not affect Washington's position.

White House: Biden's remarks about Ukraine are his personal opinionWhite House spokeswoman Jennifer Saki on Thursday morning sought to dissuade the US government from making insulting remarks and baseless allegations by President Joe Biden about Russia and the Ukraine war.

Saki told a news conference that the White House believed that Biden's remarks about "genocide" in Ukraine were only his personal views.

According to the RIA Novosti website, he also stressed that such statements could not harm the prospects of peace talks and would not affect the US position on resolving the crisis.

Asked about Biden's remarks, the White House spokesman, who twice called Russian actions "genocidal" in Ukraine on Tuesday, said:
It is unlikely that President Putin will decide not to participate in peace talks because of what the US president is saying. If it is in his interest, he will decide to take part in these negotiations.

Accordingly, Saki stated that the US government will always support the Ukrainian authorities in the negotiations, stating:
We will always support peace talks. The president, the secretary of state, the national security adviser will always support it. And we support the Ukrainians in these efforts.

According to RIA Novosti, he noted that it may take years for the international community to reach a legal opinion on what is happening in Ukraine in line with the concept of "genocide."
