Arab media reported an explosion in southern Lebanon on Tuesday morning.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a compound belonging to the Amal movement in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, Reuters reported, quoting a Lebanese security source.
The security source told Reuters:
A bomb blast near the southern Lebanese city of Sidon has killed at least one person and injured three others.
Some sources say the site of the blast was an ammunition depot belonging to the Amal movement, while others say the movement's civilian building was blown up.
Al Jazeera quoted its correspondent in Lebanon as saying:
A number of people were injured in an explosion in the town of Benaful in the Sidon area. The blast damaged a building belonging to the local municipal council and another adjacent building south of Sidon.
Al Jazeera also added:
Ambulances have been dispatched to the site of the blast in Sidon, and security and military forces have launched an investigation.
The network reported minutes later that the death toll had risen to one dead and seven injured.
