The official Jordanian news agency (Petra) reported on the medical visit of King Abdullah II of Jordan to Germany today (Sunday, April 10).
According to the report, the King of Jordan is traveling to Germany to undergo surgery to treat a disc herniation of the thoracic spine (the part of the thoracic spine that is located behind the chest). The recovery period for this surgery is one week, after which Abdullah II will return to the country.
On the other hand, the website "Arabi 21" reported, citing informed sources, that the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Amman, which was scheduled to take place today, was delayed. The King of Jordan was scheduled to host Erdogan on Monday in Amman.
According to the Jordanian news agency, according to the advice of Jordanian doctors who were informed about the king's condition, the operation will be performed this week in a specialized hospital in Frankfurt, Germany.
It was after the news broke that the Turkish presidency's office announced that Erdogan's visit to Jordan had been delayed, citing Abdullah II's emergency surgery. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
