Sunday, 10 April 2022 (YJC)_ German sources say the Kiev government has asked Berlin to buy 100 Howitzer self-propelled artillery pieces.
Despite repeated German opposition to Ukraine's request for arms sales, Kiev once again called for self-propelled artillery.
RIA Novosti quoted informed sources as saying that Ukraine had asked Berlin to sell 100 self-propelled artillery pieces to the country in an official request.
According to these sources, the artillery in question in Ukraine is of the "PZH 2000" model, which is classified as a subset of "Howitzer" self-propelled artillery.
A German newspaper also reported that Ukraine had submitted a proposal to the German Ministry of Economy on Saturday to purchase the artillery, and that the first units of the weapons could be delivered 30 months after the signing of the contract, no earlier than the second half of 2024.
According to the report, the delivery of new howitzers to Ukraine will be completed in 2027.
According to RIA Novosti, the German Ministry of Economy has refused to comment on this information.
