Alliance are interested in the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution on NATO force deployment in Afghanistan after 2014, Russian Permanent Representative in NATO Alexander Grushko said on Wednesday.
Russian Representative was commenting on the results of the NATO Council session at the level of foreign ministers of 28 NATO states in Brussels on December 2.

"I know that many of them [NATO states] are interested in this resolution to be adopted, because national parliaments will decide on dispatching contingents within a new mission anyway. I am aware that this is an important condition for taking a positive decision by national parliaments of some countries," Grushko told Russian reporters.

Moscow believes that further deployment of military forces from the United States and their NATO allies in Afghanistan is impermissible without a specific UN Security Council resolution, spokesman for Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said on Tuesday.
