The Taliban's foreign ministry said China had received the group's diplomats for the Afghan embassy in Beijing.
In an interview with CG television on Monday, Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Taliban's acting foreign minister, said that much progress had been made in the Taliban's relations with China.
He thanked China for accepting new diplomats for the Afghan embassy in Beijing.
Mottaqi added that facilitating the export of Afghan products to China, holding meetings such as a meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighbors, and accepting new Taliban diplomats are signs of China's good intentions.
He also said he had invited China and other countries to invest in Afghanistan.
Mottaqi added:
We controlled ISIL, and with our arrival, ISIL was not able to carry out any attacks. We have controlled the borders.
The Taliban foreign minister also noted that the group would not allow anyone to use Afghan territory against other countries.
