Monday, 4 April 2022 (YJC)_ The President of Ukraine did not consider the new Western sanctions on Russia sufficient and called for more action against Moscow.
Following reports of civilian casualties in the Ukrainian city of Bucha, and the decision by Western countries to impose more sanctions on Russia, Kiev called for a stronger response to Moscow.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday evening that new sanctions imposed on Russia by Western supporters in Kiev were not enough.
According to Reuters, Zelenskyy explained:
The West will impose a new package of sanctions on Russia over the killing of civilians in Bucha and other Ukrainian cities, but that is not enough.
While Russia has denied the allegations, he reiterated:
Hundreds of people have been killed in Bucha and other cities, including civilians who have been killed by direct fire.
