Monday, 4 April 2022 (YJC)_ Russia's ambassador to the United Nations has called for a Security Council meeting to consider Ukraine's allegations of civilian casualties in the city of Bucha.
Moscow's envoy to the United Nations has called for a Security Council meeting after Russian officials claimed that Russian troops had killed civilians in the town of Bucha.
According to Reuters, Russia has requested that the UN Security Council meet on Monday to discuss what it calls a "provocative act by Ukrainian extremists" in the city of Bucha.
Russia's Deputy Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polanski, said in a statement:
Russia has called for a UN Security Council meeting in the wake of the apparent sedition of Ukrainian radicals in Bucha.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the accusations against Russian forces for killing civilians in the Kiev region were untrue.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also called for more action against Moscow on Sunday evening, saying the new Western sanctions on Russia were not enough.
