Saturday, 2 April 2022 (YJC)_ A spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry welcomed the UN envoy's initiative to halt military operations in Yemen for two months, allow ships carrying food and fuel, and allow the partial reopening of Sanaa airport.
Saeed Khatibzadeh, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, today (Saturday) welcomed the initiative of the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Yemen to suspend military operations for two months and allow ships carrying food and fuel to enter, as well as the partial reopening of Sanaa Airport.
It is worth mentioning that the UN Special Representative for Yemen announced on Friday evening that Sanaa had reached an agreement with the resigned government and the aggressor coalition to stop all military operations and reduce the siege against Yemen.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed hope that the move could be a prelude to the complete lifting of the siege and the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in order to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
Khatibzadeh emphasized Iran's position in support of a political and humanitarian solution in Yemen and said: "We hope that on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, by prioritizing humanitarian issues and continuing the ceasefire, we will see an improvement in humanitarian conditions and a full exchange of prisoners and prisoners." Let's be involved in this country and this action can be a basis for starting a political initiative to resolve the crisis.
