Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for a Russian ceasefire in Ukraine.
The Turkish presidency's office said in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Sunday that better fire and humanitarian conditions were needed after Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
According to Reuters, Erdogan's office reiterated the call:
Erdogan stressed the importance of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, the implementation of peace and the improvement of humanitarian conditions in the region.
The statement added:
They agreed to hold the next round of Ukraine-Russia Peace Committee talks in Istanbul.
