Saturday, 26 March 2022 (YJC)_ The EU foreign policy chief said Iran and the countries present at the Vienna talks were very close to reaching an agreement.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell addressed the Doha summit on Saturday, addressing issues related to the Iran nuclear deal and the Ukraine crisis.
According to Reuters, the European official said in his speech:
We are very close to reaching an agreement on nuclear talks with Iran.
The European diplomat also said that the Ukraine crisis is a threat to the whole world and that Russia should not be forced to strengthen cooperation with China.
Borrell's remarks about the imminence of the agreement in the Vienna talks come as Enrique Mora, the EU's deputy foreign policy chief and co-ordinator of the EU delegation to the Vienna talks, announced his visit to Tehran.
Minutes later, a Wall Street Journal reporter reported, citing informed sources, that Mora would travel to Washington after his trip to Tehran to try to finalize the talks.
